Mission of OutSpeaking:

Increase awareness and understanding of the LGBTQA community and LGBTQA issues by providing the UNL and Lincoln communities with educational workshops and panels.

Educational Panels

Personal perspectives on Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and Ally experiences are shared by students, parents, faculty/staff members, community members and/or parents. Educational panels can be arranged for classes, residence hall floor, fraternity/sorority chapter, athletic team, student organizations, or community organizations. The goal of the panel is understanding; many students who have attended panels state that they were able to get common questions answered and found the panels to be a great way to break stereotypes and assumptions about LGBTQA issues.

Workshops and Presentations

"Creating Safer Spaces" helps participants learn ways to create and provide safe space for all individuals of all sexual orientations, gender identities and gender expression. Learning is interactive, relaxed and informal; participants are encouraged to engage new ideas without shame while being challenged to remove the barriers that limit the success of others.
