S.E.R.V.E. Model
The S.E.R.V.E model, developed at the University of Nebraska, outlines the important elements of a quality service-learning project. Student Involvement’s Service-Learning program uses the S.E.R.V.E. model in all areas of volunteer service including Community Challenges, Alternative Service Breaks, and Service-Learning Courses.
Five Steps to SERVE:

- [E] ducate and inform

Camp Kesem
UNL is interested in bringing Camp Kesem to our campus. Camp Kesem is a college student run summer camp for kids with a parent who has (or has had) cancer. The goal is to give campers the most fun week possible, while providing the extra support and attention that they need.
We've applied for funding from LIVESTRONG to implement a program proven to support those fighting cancer. And we're excited to let you know that our application has been selected to advance to the final stage — a vote by the broader community. The organizations receiving the most votes within their regions will be awarded funds, materials and training.
Please vote for our program and share it with your family and friends: http://vote.livestrong.org/applicants/17-students-of-university-of-nebraska-lincoln/
The deadline to vote is May 31 and we hope you can help us show the support our community has for this program. You can vote once every day!! Make sure to forward this email to help spread the word
